Autumn
04:10
|
|
||
There's a hole in my heart
where all the love goes
all of my life I've tried
to keep it closed
All the ladies I've known
have always treated it right
it's my heart that's searching
each day and each night
Autumn come slowly, Autumn come quick
I need a fix to help me deal with this
Autumn turn brightly, Autumn that's it
Color my life, and I'll pay the rent
On the heels of fall
comes a heat wave
my heart, it keeps beating
for a better way
I have done what i can
my decision's been made
but my heart says resolve
is just a day away
Autumn come slowly, Autumn come quick
I need a fix to help me deal with this
Autumn turn brightly, Autumn that's it
Color my life, and I'll pay the rent
This time keeps on passing
my hair is turning gray
time alone can't heal me
nor hearts sad refrain
Autumn has gone
the frost has settled in
So long my darlin'
I'll see you again

Chase the Gold
06:26
|
|
||
Chase the gold, cause someday you will be
All you had, were dreams that could not be
Play the grass, never regret when you lay down to die…
Always what, you meant it to be
They never get, what you wanted to see
You've always had, the upper hand
Chased it once, go for it twice
Don't ever take, your own advice
Try to be true, all the way through
Chase the gold for you
And I can’t say that I was due
And I can’t say that it was through
But I can say that you were cruel
You led me like a fool
Save the gold, cause its never so bright
When you think, you gave all of your fight
Hold on to her, all that you can, never let go of her hand
Someday love, it will be all lost
Your heart and thoughts, consume all the cost
That sacred bond, corroded with time, and fell
Truth is blind, leading the blind
Scared and afraid, of what you might find
Try to be true, all the way through
Save the Gold for you
And I can't say that I was due
And I can't say that it was through
But I can say that you were cruel
You led me like a fool
Spend the gold, it's worth more than you paid
You've lost it all, so much more than you made
She's left and gone, the "why" will drive you insane…
Never what, you thought it would be
She's left your hand, you no longer see
Your left with pain, and feeling blue
She get's to bend, all over the place
While your left to rot, feeling disgrace
It's no longer true, all the way through
Spend the gold for you
It'll fade, yet that song still reminds me of you
That breath you take, like the times, that we once knew

Tonight is All Mine
03:50
|
|
||
Wine spills, the clock is still
In time with our, shattered lives
from open ties
She, denies, the opened lie
of many times, before the door
has time to close
My life has changed in so many ways
My, mind, with moonlight views
of family ways
that strained the day
She, said, she'd love me till
the day is still, but now I cry
for morning sky
My life has changed in so many ways
I will walk this new life
Tonight is all mine
I will walk this night alone,
Tonight is all mine
This talk will cost, it's never cheap
This pain's still there, I see you weep
Beside me still
Forced to heal, how will I deal?
My heart has broke and will not feel
Anymore
Tonight is all mine
I will walk this night alone,
Tonight is all mine

Why Lie
07:19
|
|
||
The vast and endless stormy maze
In which it's beauty I will gaze
Isn't that the way we see
The sounds of yellow crazy moon
Forces out a silent tune
Isn't that the way it goes
Empty is the starry sky
With visions from a looming eye
Isn't that the way it's told
Farther through this trip we fall
Sailing through the waves we haul
Isn't that the way we know
My world is here
Why lie with fear
Feel your heart is free
Why lie to me
Our kingdom and a world to come
Our wisdom is a shining sun
Isn't that the way we grow
Falling down an endless dream
Grabbing onto what it seems
Isn't that the way we fear

October Shadows
04:22
|
|
||
These long, long, long October shadows
These cold, cold, cold November nights
How I long, long, long for you body
Next to mine, all thru the night
Over and over, the wind it howled
The houses have blown down,
Thru the towns
The people they cried out,
As long as they could
While all the young boys,
They understood;
These long, long, long October shadows
These cold, cold, cold November nights
How I long, long, long for you body
Next to mine, all thru the night
The feeling of wanting, the knowing of sin
The old men have followed,
The women begin
Singing and laughter, innocence lost
Yet all the young boys
They loose their trust;
In these long, long, long October shadows
These cold, cold, cold November nights
How I long, long, long for you body
Next to mine, all thru the night
The days have grown shorter, the night it has come
We long for those moments,
When we were young
Age has no meaning,
For what we've become
We're no longer young boys
Who sing our songs

Those Eyes
03:44
|
|
||
Those deep blue eyes
They tell such stories
More than she'll share
This love she gives me
Oh dear, I'm here
tell me your fears
those eyes told me
I'll hold you near
I wish I held you
tight in my arms
the pulse of your heart
so sweet and so strong
And then I saw
Into your soul
I've never seen love
Like yours before...
Baby, don't cry
I can see you
before long dear
we'll be just two

History
04:45
|
|
||
My ears have been ringing for days now,
But that's not the story
The theory of time and a place
Where these things are real
I couldn't escape times erased
It's haunting me now
The very thought of regret
That's got nothing on me
Sleepless nights and wasted days
That's history
Sleepless nights and wasted days
I'm better today
One hundred years from this day,
Who's left to judge me
I've kept my promise to date
that's all I have
This life has got ups and got downs
I know that for sure
I couldn't be happier now
The future's so bright
Sleepless nights and wasted days
That's history
Sleepless nights and wasted days
I'm better today

Inch On
07:22
|
|

Look around at what I've seen,
A man's life and his losing dreams
My toy axe and saw at age 10,
I couldn't fail, I would do it again
Every cent I made from shining shoes,
I'd give it to her just to sing the blues
Without a grave in this cold mountain,
I speak the truth and I'd say it again
We'll climb, to the highest ridge
Our hearts in our hands, lines drawn in the sand
Our souls burn with life, as we bend in time,
Slowly ticking from the bombs, in our mind
Soon my time will come, to see my fallen ones
Our hearts were torn,
We kept our course,
Love and scorn,
Inch On
Step back, take a look at your life,
Tell me it's not going alright
You never dream, from what I've seen,
I've worked hard from the start of the scene
Not slowing down, not losing heart,
Stay the course right from the start
Without a grave in this cold mountain,
I speak the truth, and I'd tell it again
We'll climb, to the highest ridge
Our hearts in our hands, lines drawn in the sand
Our souls burn with life, as we bend in time,
Slowly ticking from the bombs, in our mind
Soon my time will come, to see my fallen ones
Our hearts were torn,
We kept our course,
Love and scorn,
Inch On

Streetlights
05:31
|
|
||
Veronica Nathan stepped out of her lovers Manhattan apartment, just as the rain stated to fall. Her heels echoed on the stairs as she could hear the rain hitting the pavement outside, while the streetlights buzz and glow. Thoughts of him were filling her head, yet she felt guilt ridden for what she was doing. She looked down at her finger, where her wedding band should be, as she exited the building into the rainy night and started to hail a cab.
The water splashed at her feet as her head swirled with confusion, to her, the road was empty, barren, yet the sirens and horns were all around her… "Excuse me miss, is this your cab?" and suddenly a cab was in front of her, door open, "Yes!" she snapped, and pushes the man to the side and sits quickly, door slamming behind her, hair soaked, mascara running down her cheeks. "Where ya headed", the cabby asks, and she simply says "drive."
As the rain falls outside, she can hear distant thunder as the first flash of lightning catches her eye. The weather makes her think of how she got here, and why. As the cab races through the wet streets, lights blur and she can still smell him on her, it makes her cringe, and again, the cabby asks, "where to?!" She can barely say, all she wants to do is escape, run from herself, hide in the shadows. As the thunder claps, she is woken, so to say, and says "JFK, please." As those words leave her mouth, she is instantly drawn to her decision, where is she running to, and how will she know when she gets there.
As the cab screeches to halt she is now faced with her future, past and present. The cabby, wreaking of stale bread and booze, turns to ask for his fare, she is lost in her head, words fail her, she can barely comprehend his request. Veronica reaches into her purse and hands him a twenty dollar bill, and exits into the rain once again. As she stands in front of the terminal, she is frozen with indecision. Tears stream down her face and mingle with the drops of rain, the thunder growing louder and stronger, do not ease her troubled mind. She is left where she started, listening to the streetlights buzz and the rain fall...
